Expand Wins a Government Contract to Develop a Universal Language for Executable Architecture Representation
Orlando, FL ? June 15, 2007 ? Expand, Inc, the leading provider of Petri Net-based modeling and simulation software, today reported that it has won a contract with a government organization to develop an Executable Architecture Representation Language and Language Translator.
Expand in partnership with Knowledge Based Systems, Inc (KBSI) will develop, implement, verify and validate a methodology for expressing the executable content of architectures in a way that is semantically correct and that can be used to drive the execution engine of a variety of tools and architecture languages. The main objective of this project is the development of a commercial product that can be used by corporate and government organizations to express the executable-content of architectures in a manner than can be understood by other organizations and directly converted to their local format.
The research and development efforts will be primarily concentrated on the interoperability between Colored Petri Nets (CPN) tools and UML and IDEF0-based tools. In addition, Expand will develop a universal translator that enables communication between Expand Visual Software Architect (VSA) product and other CPN modeling solutions.
