Expand Wins a Government Contract to Develop Next Generation Architecture Modeling and
Simulation Software
Orlando, FL ? August 20, 2008 ? Expand Inc, the leading provider of Petri Net-based modeling and simulation software, announced today that it has won a key project with a government organization to develop next generation Modeling and Simulation Software.
Under the terms of the contract, Expand will build and integrated software product ? namely- the Modeling and Simulation Studio (MSS) which will provide model architecture specification design and execution capabilities. This software will integrate Discrete Event Simulations (DES), Continuous Event Simulations (CES) and Hybrid Simulations (HS) of executable architecture in one High-Level Petri Net Tool.
MSS will assist subject matter experts (SMEs) with the following tasks:
Modeling - MSS will help SMEs create top level designs by using top level architecture blocks and connections. Each block will be identified by its parameters ? name, color, icon etc.
Simulation - Once the architecture is verified and tested it can be used to conduct the study. Based on different sets of inputs, the resultant outputs can be recorded and analyzed.
Collaboration - To achieve collaboration, the architecture design should be done in blocks. Each block will be verified, validated and added to a library to be reused later in any architecture. Libraries may be shared among team members and reused.
With this contract win, Expand is further solidifying its position as a leading vendor in the Petri Net based Modeling and Simulation arena. Expand is building upon the success of its Visual Software Architect (VSA) product which is already used by many government and corporate organizations.
